The official site of the anime adaptation of the manga Awajima Hyakkei, written and illustrated by Takako Shimura, posted his first promotional video along with confirmation of his released in April 2026. In addition, the main cast that will voice the protagonists was revealed.
Main cast
Niina Nakabayashi (Takopii no Genzai) will play Wakana Tabata, while You Taichi (Majo to Yajuu) will give voice to Kinue Takehara. Both will lead this story set in school life on the island of Awajima.
Production team
The project will be directed by Morio Asaka (Chihayafuru, Cardcaptor Sakura) under the production of the studio Madhouse. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai, Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun) will be in charge of the composition of the series, while Kunihiko Hamada (Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru) will design the characters.
The soundtrack will be composed by Takahiro Obata (Yakusoku no Neverland, Shoushimin Series), reinforcing the emotional atmosphere that characterizes the original work.
About the original manga
Awajima Hyakkei it began publication in June 2011 on the portal little bit and later he moved to the site Oota Web Comic in 2016, where it ended on March 15, 2024. The publisher Oota Publishing he released his fifth and final compilation volume in May of the same year.
