The
undisputed master of chuunibyou and leader in the shadows will finally claim
the big screen. During the franchise's panel at the AnimeJapan 2026 event, a
new trailer and promotional poster for the highly anticipated film The
Eminence in Shadow - Lost Echoes (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!:
Zankyou-hen) was revealed, officially confirming that the series' film
expansion is slated for 2027.
To ensure
that this leap to the cinema is a resounding success, the production committee
opted to maintain the winning formula, ensuring that the same animation studio
responsible for the excellent television seasons takes back the reins of the
project. The vast majority of the main technical team is expected to return to
their posts to keep intact that perfect mix between absurd comedy and
mind-blowing combat choreography. The promotional trailer gives us a small look
at the visual section, which makes a notable leap in quality, and prepares us
for the arrival of new threats and enemies that will force the secret
organization to move its best pieces.
About
The Eminence in Shadow
For those
who have just discovered this disaster of epic misunderstandings, the original
work written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Tozai,
puts us in the shoes of Cid, a boy who lives absolutely obsessed with the idea
of becoming a mysterious figure who controls everything from the shadows. After
dying and reincarnating in a world of sword and sorcery, he decides to found
Shadow Garden, an organization dedicated to eradicating the evil Cult of
Devils.
The only
problem is that the cult was a total lie that Cid invented to play the dark
hero. However, to his surprise (and without him realizing it himself),
everything he improvises turns out to be 100% real. The whole world thinks he's
a tactical genius and the most formidable being on the planet, while he just
thinks that all his subordinates are following his huge, fun role-playing game.
