Author Kai Ikada has announced in
the most recent update of her manga “ Hokkaido
Gals Are Super Adorable! ” that the series will come to an
end in two more chapters . According to her statement, Chapter 118
will be released on August 27, while the final chapter is scheduled for
September 10, significantly coinciding with the fifth anniversary of
serialization.
The author expressed her gratitude to the readers,
highlighting that the series' longevity is due to the constant support of its
audience: “ Thanks to all the readers, this series has been able to
continue for so long. Thank you very, very much. Please stay until the end .”
“ Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! “,
known in Japan as “ Dosanko Gal wa Namara Menkoi “, has gained
popularity for its charming mix of romance and youth comedy, set in the cold
region of Hokkaido. The story follows Tsubasa Shiki, a young man who
moves from Tokyo to Hokkaido and meets the vibrant and adorable Minami Fuyuki,
a local “gal.” As Shiki adjusts to his new life, the bonds between him
and Fuyuki strengthen, revealing the warm side of cold Hokkaido through their
interactions. The play has been praised for its representation of local
culture and the dynamic relationship between the main characters.
The popularity of the series led to an anime
adaptation in January 2024, which captured the essence of the manga and was
well received by fans. However, with the announcement of the end of the
manga, concern has arisen among fans that the conclusion of the original work
could mean the end of the possibilities of a second season of the anime. Fans
fear that without additional material to promote, the animated series will not
continue, leaving the experience of the story in its animated format
incomplete.
This outcome marks a significant moment for both
fans of the manga and those who have fallen in love with the series through the
anime. As the end draws near, the fan community is hoping that the
conclusion offers a satisfying closure to a story that has been a part
of their lives for five years.
