During
the Blue Lock Egoist Fest 2025 event, it was revealed that the
popular manga by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yuusuke Nomura will
feature a new sequel anime. The announcement was accompanied by
a promotional visual that anticipates the return of the
animated project.
In
addition, the production of a live-action film that will be
released in summer 2026 in Japanese theaters was confirmed,
marking the franchise's first live-action adaptation.
Anime
Background
The Blue
Lock anime, produced by 8bit, debuted with a first season
of 24 episodes between fall 2022 and winter 2023. Then
came Blue Lock vs. U-20 Japan, a 14-episode second
season aired in the fall of 2024. Both seasons were available on Crunchyroll with
subtitles and dubbing in multiple languages.
The
franchise also released the Blue Lock: Episode Nagi film in
April 2024, expanding on the story from Nagi Seishiro's perspective.

2018. Kodansha released volume number 35 on August 12 and has
volume 36 scheduled for November 17. The work currently accumulates 45
