Chainsaw Man – Reze Arc Opens with "IRIS OUT"

Kenshi Yonezu's official YouTube channel published on Tuesday the opening sequence of the film Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, a film adaptation of Reze's arc from Tatsuki Fujimoto's manga. The video features the title track "IRIS OUT," performed by the renowned Japanese singer-songwriter.



Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) acquired the worldwide distribution rights to the film. In Latin America, the premiere is scheduled for October 23, while in Japan it debuted on September 19 in 421 theaters, including special features in MX4D4DX and Dolby Cinema formats.

 

The film also had midnight screenings in twelve theaters in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and Hokkaido. According to estimates by its distributor TOHO, the film could exceed 5 billion yen (approximately $34 million) during its total exhibition.

 

Box office performance

 

During its opening weekend, the film debuted at number one at the Japanese box office, displacing Kimetsu no Yaiba: Infinity Castle – Akaza Sairai, which had held the lead for nine consecutive weeks. As of October 5, the film has sold 1.96 million tickets and grossed a total of 2,989,518,900 yen (approximately $20.19 million).

 

On its opening day, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc sold more than 272,000 tickets and earned more than 420 million yen (about $2.8 million).
