According to a comment made by director Shuhei Yabuta ( Vinland Saga ), it was reported that the promotional video released this morning for the new season of the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama , Shingeki no Kyojin (also known as Attack on Titan ) was pre-animated.
The above means that it was made separately from the animation production and did not use fragments of the project for television, so it cannot be used as a reference of what the final animation product will be.
For its part, Isayama has published the manga in the  Kodansha  publishing house  Bessatsu Shonen Magazine  since September 2009. The publishing house published the thirty-first compilation volume on April 9.
The play has inspired a three-season anime adaptation. The first 25-episode season was produced by  Wit Studio  in collaboration with  Production IG , under the direction of  Tetsurou Araki  and scripts written by  Yasuko Kobayashi  (who would remain in this role for the three seasons) and premiered in April 2013.

The twelve-episode second season premiered in April 2017, with the same production crew, with the exception of  Masashi Koizuka who  would now be the director. This was followed by a second season of 22 episodes that was divided into two arcs, the first of twelve episodes premiered in October 2018 and the second of ten episodes premiered in April 2019. The fourth season is scheduled to premiere in the month. October 2020, and made a complete change of production team, highlighting the departure of Wit Studio and the entry of MAPPA studios  .

Synopsis of Shingeki no Kyojin

A century ago, human beings faced their extinction when an unbeatable and terrifying enemy appeared: the Titans, gigantic monsters that devoured much of humanity and forced the few survivors to confine themselves behind high walls. Behind those walls is Eren Jaeger, a boy who dreams of crossing them to get to know the outside world and who lives his day to day with his parents, his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman and his friend Armin Arlert.

However, one fateful day, humanity remembers once again its destiny when a gargantuan sixty-meter titan appears before the first row of walls that protect humans from their most fearsome enemy. Thus, Eren, Mikasa and Armin lose their home and all hope at the same time that our protagonist takes an oath: his goal in life will be to end all the Titans. In this way, a story of survival and war begins in which their characters must unravel the mystery behind the existence of these horrible beings.
