The
upcoming anime Mechanical Marie, an adaptation of Aki
Akimoto's manga, has revealed a new promotional image featuring Marie,
the protagonist who is not quite a robot, along with her enigmatic
employer Arthur and other main characters.
In
addition, two new characters have been officially announced to join the cast:
- Roy, played by Yuuichirou Umehara (Goblin
Slayer in GOBLIN SLAYER).
- Maynard, played by Daishi
Kajita (Hibiki Sakurama in Go! Go! Loser
Ranger!).
A high-level creative team
The series
is being directed by Junji Nishimura (The Fire Hunter)
and is produced by Zero-G and Liber studios.
The script is in charge of Mariko Kunisawa (BARTENDER Glass
of God), while Yoko Kikuchi (Twilight Out of Focus)
is in charge of character design.
The
soundtrack will be composed by Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy
Tail) and Johannes Nilsson (Gushing over Magical Girls),
promising a setting as intense as its plot.
A
mechanical maid with a lethal past
As
described by the production company Pony Canyon, the story revolves
around Marie, a former martial arts genius who now lives hidden
under the façade of a "mechanical maid" in the mansion
of Arthur, the heir to a powerful conglomerate that detests humans.
If his true identity is discovered, execution would be immediate!
Thanks to
her expressionless face, Marie manages to go unnoticed while performing her
tasks perfectly and secretly protects Arthur from the constant attempts that
seek to end his life. However, everything gets complicated when Arthur, in love
with his servant, begins to suspect her nature.
Every day
is a tense mix of risk, excitement, and secrets on the brink
of disaster. Mechanical Marie is scheduled for release
in October 2025, with an exact date yet to be confirmed.
