The anime Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima delays its release

The production committee for the anime Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima, based on the multimedia project Hypnosis Mic, announced that the premiere of the series will be delayed until October.


The committee explained that the decision was made prioritizing the health and safety of members of the production team and the cast of voices, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan. The series was scheduled to premiere in July.

Cast of voices

The rap project includes voice actors who play the genre, and was launched in September 2017. The performers include the following groups:
  • Ikebukuro Divison Busters Bros (Subaru Kimura, Haruki Ishiya, Kohei Amasaki).
  • Yokohama Division Mad Trigger Crew (Shintaro Asanuma, Shinichiro Kamio, Wataru Komada).
  • Shinjuku Division Matenro (Sho Hayami, Ryuichi Kijima, Ken Ito).
  • Shibuya Divison Fling Posse (Yusuke Shirai, Soma Saito, Yukihiro Nozuyama).
  • Osaka Division Dotsuitare Hompo (Kengo Kawanishi, Ryota Iwasaki, Takaya Kuroda).
  • Nagoya Division Bad Ass Temple (Yuki Sakakihara, Shouta Hayama, Eiji Takeuchi).
Production team
  • Katsumi Ono (Hataraki Man, Senki Zesshou Symphogear, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5 Duel Scoop, Girly Air Force) is directing the project at A-1 Pictures studios.
  • Minako Shiba (Kuroshitsuji, Dakaretai Otoko Ichi-ni ni Odosarete Imasu) is in charge of character design for the animation.
  • Shin Yoshida (Yu Gi Oh !, Zone of the Enders) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
  • The group Division All Stars performs the opening song titled "Hypnosis Mic -Rhyme Anima-
Hypnosis Mic's first album, titled “Enter the Hypnosis Microphone” was released in April 2019. Additionally, the overall project includes several manga adaptations, a smarthpony game, and live events.
