This game had originally been announced for release this year and will be the first installment in the franchise in 17 years, set in "a third universe." The first installment of the Angelique franchise was released in 1994 as "the first dating simulation game for women." The franchise has also inspired novels, manga adaptations, and multiple anime adaptations.

The story centers on Ange, a 25-year-old office worker who is constantly tired of life. One day, she decides to go have a drink at a bar and, while drunk, she receives an offer to change jobs. Thinking it was a joke, she casually signed the contract, and was immediately greeted by a young man riding a pegasus descending from the sky, who called her "Candidate for Queen."
