In this year's ninth edition of Gadom Ace magazine from Kadokawa, it was revealed that the manga written by Yo Taichi and illustrated by Tomohiro Chiba, Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny, is approaching "his last battle."
Taichi and Chiba started publishing the manga in Kadokawa's Gundam Ace magazine in September 2015. The publisher published the eighth compilation volume on February 25.
This work is a remake of the manga written and illustrated by Mizuho Takayama and published in 1996 as a side story of the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, which recounted the events of the Blue Destiny games released for the Sega Saturn console in Japan between 1996 and 1997.
Synopsis of Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny
Yuu Kajima is a soldier of the Earth Federation Forces during the "One Year War", testing new technology before its mass production. During routine combat, he and his companions are attacked by a mysterious blue colored Mobile Suit that fights like a monster. The group almost died, but managed to escape.
Upon returning to his base, Yuu is assigned as the pilot of the same unit, the "Blue Destiny". While using his new machine and fighting the "Nimbus Schatzen", Yuu discovers that there are many more secrets behind the "Blue Destiny" than he thought.
