Takumi Kitamura and Eiji Akaso will play two high school students during the cultural festival (Kitamura and Akaso played Rio and Kazuomi, respectively, in the live-action film), while Minami Hamabe and Riko Fukumoto will play Chiyo and Ayuko, two characters. from a movie that will be broadcast within the same movie (Hamabe and Fukumoto played Akari and Yuna, respectively, in the live-action movie).
The film will be released in theaters in Japan on September 18, after being pushed back from its original release date of May 29, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on production. For her part, Sakisaka published the manga between June 2015 and May 2019 in Bessatsu Margaret magazine, from Shueisha publishing house. The publisher compiled the story in twelve volumes.
