Virtual YouTuber Kusunoki Sio suspends activities due to harassment
Virtual YouTuber Kusunoki Sio announced that she will be taking a hiatus from her activities as a VTuber. In her statement, Sio said that as of the night of August 19, many people have tried to hack into her Twitter and YouTube accounts, find her home location, and send her real-life photos of her in the mail.
Sio is in discussions with a lawyer and has decided to stop doing her online activities to protect herself and her family. Furthermore, she apologized for the problems this may cause her fans.
Virtual YouTuber Kusunoki Sio debuted on YouTube in December 2019 and specializes in the game of mahjong, as well as has written a column for Kindai Mahjong magazine. She is currently independent and is not affiliated with any talent agency, such as Hololive Production or Nijisanji.
In another incident involving the privacy of a Virtual YouTuber, Yamisaki Ichika has been tackling an incident in which her real face was revealed during a technical glitch. On Twitter, she joked about receiving money out of pity for the broadcast incident and posted a photo of her real face before becoming a YouTuber. Ichika is a depressed character who nonetheless strives to live life to the fullest.
