Hiroyuki Aigamo is the author of the manga adaptation of the Ansatsusha light novels by Aru Ore no Status ga Yuusha yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi no da ga ( My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's) , and in December 2020 she reported that there was been diagnosed with endometrial cancer, a type of cancer that begins in the uterus. It was not until July 23 that he published updates on the matter through Twitter.
Aigamo noted that it is now at a stage where cancer has a low chance of metastasizing( Cancer cells that break away from the original (primary) tumor, travel through the body through the blood or lymphatic system, and form a new tumor in other organs or tissues ). She attributes her current state of health to the surgery in January and the pathological diagnosis of her uterus. The cause has not been identified, and Aigamo continues to monitor and treat symptoms.
Aigamo added that at first it was difficult to say that her postoperative recovery had gone well in the first two months after the operation. He then recovered to the point of being able to lead a quiet everyday life. However, he still found it difficult to do office work. If she felt bad, she ended up falling asleep for several days. Although she was engaged in emails and office work, it was difficult for her to start the process of drawing manga.
Starting in June, Aigamo began preparing to resume serializing the manga and redrawing as long as his workload was light. However, on his doctor's order not to overwork, he drew at a slow pace.She is concerned about her condition, but is being carefully examined by her doctor, and Overlap's editorial department is monitoring her with understanding.
Aigamo revealed her cancer diagnosis last December. He announced that Aru Ore no Status ga Yuusha yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi no da ga's Ansatsusha manga would be on hiatus, which had started last October, so that he could rest and undergo an operation. Finally, Aigamo began publishing the manga through Overlap publisher's Comic Gardo service in July 2018, with three compiled volumes published to date in Japan.
