A press release announced that Uoto ' s award-winning Chi.: Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite ( About the Movement of the Earth ) manga is getting an anime adaptation produced by Madhouse studios . The press release did not reveal a scheduled release date, but did include a message from the author, who wrote:
- « I am very happy. I remember a few years ago I would go to a friend's house in Nakano and stop by Madhouse every week. At that time, I never dreamed that my manga would be animated there. I am deeply moved and I am already looking forward to it ».
Uoto began publication of the manga through Shogakukan 's Big Comic Spirits magazine in September 2020, and ended it in April 2022 with a total of eight published compilation volumes. The play won the coveted Grand Prize at the twenty-sixth Osamu Tezuka Cultural Award , held in the year 2022 in Japan.

The setting is fifteenth-century Europe. It is a time when heretical ideas are burned at the stake. The protagonist, Raphau, a child prodigy, must specialize in theology, the most important subject of the time, at the university, where he plans to skip a course. However, one day a mysterious man appears at Raphau's door studying a certain "truth" in the midst of heretical thought.
