During the Jump Festa 2022 event , held in December 2021, author Kohei Horikoshi shared a special illustration with a message announcing that his Boku no Hero Academia ( My Hero Academia ) manga would reach its conclusion one year from now. then.
The news was quite confusing for fans of the franchise, especially since they expected the story to go all the way to the adult phases of each of the characters (some fear a huge time jump like Kimetsu no Yaiba did ) . , but the end date listed a year ahead did not give hope of it.
However, it seems that the light appeared almost at the end of the road in the form of a message shared by the author in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine (according to the most recent leaks), where he indicated that "he is reconsidering his decision" :
- « At the end of last year I mentioned that the series would be finished in a year, but it has already been ten months. I am reconsidering », He wrote in the small section of him in the magazine.
It is quite evident that the author has already defined the way in which the story will end, however, he could have misestimated the time it would take to get there and made a hasty statement. After all, announcements of a final chapter are given three to five chapters before publication (that is, about a month for weekly series), not a year before!
For his part, Horikoshi began publishing the Boku no Hero Academia manga in Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in July 2014 and entered its last story arc in March 2021. The publisher published the thirty-fourth compiled book volume in May. of 2022, followed by the thirty-fifth on July 4 in Japan.
Synopsis of Boku no Hero Academia
The emergence of "Quirks" - newly discovered superpowers - has steadily increased over the years, with 80 percent of humanity possessing various abilities, from manipulating elements to shapeshifting. This leaves the rest of the world completely powerless, and Izuku Midoriya is one of those individuals. Ever since he was a boy, the ambitious high school student has wanted nothing more than to be a hero. Izuku's unjust fate leaves him admiring the heroes and taking notes on them whenever he can. But it seems that his persistence has borne some fruit: Izuku meets the number one hero and his personal idol, All Might. All Might's Quirk is a unique ability that can be inherited, and he has chosen Izuku as his successor!
After enduring many months of grueling training, Izuku enrolls at UA Academy, a prestigious prep school famous for its excellent hero training program, and this year's freshmen look especially promising. With his strange but talented classmates and the looming threat of an evil organization, Izuku will soon learn what it really means to be a hero.
