On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Satoru Noda , Golden Kamuy , it was announced that the fourth season will restart from its first episode starting next April 3 in Japan . It should be remembered that this fourth season was suspended from the seventh episode on November 1 due to the death of one of the key members of the production.

In the statement at that time, it had been reported that the person who had died was "essential" for production, so the production committee and the Brains Base studio team made the decision to suspend the series. Doing the math on the broadcast, the seventh episode (where the broadcast would actually resume) is now scheduled for May 15 in Japan.

On the other hand, Satoru Noda began publishing the Golden Kamuy manga through Shueisha 's Weekly Young Jump magazine from August 2014 and ended it in April 2022, with a total of thirty-one compiled volumes. Regarding the anime adaptation, the Crunchyroll platform is in charge of its distribution in the West.

Golden Kamuy Synopsis

In the early 1900s, in Hokkaido after the Russo-Japanese War, Saichi Sugimoto tirelessly pans for gold. Nicknamed "Sugimoto the Immortal" for his acts of defiance of death in battle, the former soldier seeks his fortune to fulfill a promise he made to his best friend before he was killed in action: to provide for his family, especially his widow who needs treatment abroad for her impaired eyesight. One day, a drunken classmate tells Sugimoto the story of a man who murdered a group of Ainu and stole a fortune in gold. Before his arrest by the police, he hid the gold somewhere in Hokkaido.

The only clue to his location is the coded map he tattooed on the bodies of his cellmates in exchange for a share of the treasure, should they manage to escape and find it.

Sugimoto doesn't think much of the story until he discovers the dead body of the drunkard with the same tattoos described in the story. But before he can collect his thoughts from him, a grizzly bear, the man's cause of death, approaches Sugimoto, determined to finish his meal. He is saved by a young Ainu girl named Asirpa, whose father turned out to be one of the Ainu killed. With Asirpa's hunting skills and Sugimoto's survival instincts, the pair agree to join forces and find the hidden treasure: one to take back what was rightfully his town and the other to fulfill the last wish of Asirpa's friend. he.
