A press release announced that the light novels written by Shin Kouduki and illustrated by Chocoan , The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases ( Dekisokonai to Yobareta Moto Eiyuu wa , Jikka kara Tsuihou Sareta node Suki Katte ni Ikiru Koto ni Shita ), will have a anime adaptation. The statement revealed production details and a promotional visual, but there is no scheduled release date yet.
Kouduki began publishing the novels through the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou in January 2018. Subsequently, publisher TO Books began publishing it on paper with illustrations by Chocoan in October 2018. In addition, a manga adaptation by Karasumaru has been published on the Nico Nico Seiga digital service since 2019.
