A leak from Weibo claimed that the Infinite Dimensional Strength Arc of Koyoharu Gotouge ' s Kimetsu no Yaiba manga will be adapted into a film format. Little is explained within the leak, but it comes from a major source that has never failed in the past, so it's pretty reliable.
Now, speaking of the leak, it's important to note that "film format" is a pretty rough translation. We adopt that term because it is not specified if it will be just one movie or several, although many bet that it will be more than one considering the extension of the volume in question. It should be noted that the Infinite Dimensional Strength Arc spans chapters 70 to 183 (Volumes 16 to 21) of the original manga, which is a tremendous amount.
For comparison purposes, the hit movie Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen adapted the Infinity Train Arc, which only spans chapters 54-69 (Volumes 7-8) . While it's pretty clear that there will be one (or several) movies for the Infinite Dimensional Fortress Arc, there's a chance that it will be adapted as a series first and the conclusion of this arc will be adapted as a movie. Anything could happen, so it's best to wait for a confirmation!
On the other hand, it should be remembered that the Pilar Training Arc will be adapted in the already confirmed next season of Kimetsu no Yaiba. This small arc covers chapters 128 to 137 (Volumes 15 to 16) of the original manga, making it quite short for an entire season of only twelve episodes to be devoted to it. What will be the real plans entrusted to Ufotable?
The third season aired during the Spring-2023 (April-June) season in Japan and had a total of eleven episodes, while the Crunchyroll platform is in charge of its distribution in the West. On the other hand, Koyoharu Gotouge published the original manga through Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine between February 2016 and May 2020, compiling the work in a total of twenty-three volumes.
