for the anime adaptation of the light novels written by Kurone Kanzaki and
illustrated by Koji Ogata and Amaru Minotake ,
“ Maou-sama,
Retry! ( Demon Lord, Retry! )”, more information
was revealed about the announced second season of the project titled “ Maou-sama,
Retry! “ R. ” The statement listed that this second
season will premiere sometime in 2024 in Japan and considerable
changes to the production team.
It should be
remembered that “ Maou-sama, Retry! R ” is the title of the
manga adaptation of the original light novels, by Amaru Minotake .
It is not a “renewed” version, but simply changed its name when it was changed
publication medium within the Futabasha publishing house . The
adaptation began in October 2017 on the Comic Action WEB site
, and was moved to the Gaugau Monster site in 2020. Although
the name changed, the story continued its normal course.
Kanzaki began
publishing the novels with illustrations by Kouji Ogata through
the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2016.
Subsequently, the Futabasha publishing
house began publishing them on paper through the Monster Bunko label
in June 2017. In 2018 A new edition of the novel began to be published, now
with illustrations by Makoto Iino , through M Novels .
For its part, a manga
adaptation with illustrations by Amaru Minotake was published
through the Monster Comics imprint on Futabasha 's Comic
Action website between October 2017 and December 2019. There were five
compilation volumes at that time. In 2019 the manga was transferred to the new
site Gaugau Monster , continuing its publication from March
2020 to the present. During the transfer the title was changed to “ Maou-sama,
Retry!” R ”, but
continued the original story.
Synopsis
of Maou-sama, Retry!
Akira
Oono is an ordinary adult who runs the MMORPG 'Infinity Game'. Fifteen years
after creating the game, Oono decides to close the servers once and for all.
However, when the clock strikes midnight, he finds himself in the body of
Hakuto Kunai, the Demon Lord from 'Infinity Game'. Shortly after his mysterious
transportation, he witnesses the demon Greole chasing a girl named Aku.
Although he dispatches the creature effortlessly, Hakuto remains worried; After
all, he doesn't remember creating the girl or the demon!
Doubting
whether he is really in the world of his creation, Hakuto decides to
investigate. Taking Aku as a guide and companion, Hakuto sets out on a journey
to find out exactly who or what he has summoned him to this fantasy world, leaving
chaos and destruction in his wake.
