On the official site for the anime adaptation of the manga “ Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ”, it was announced that the final two episodes of the fourth season currently broadcast will have an extended duration according to the following schedule:

  • Episode 7 (June 23) – 40 minute broadcast block.

  • Episode 8/Final (June 30) – 60 minute broadcast block.

It should be remembered that the “broadcast blocks” are the space that the anime broadcast occupies within the television stations' schedule. Therefore, it cannot be said that the episodes will have the duration mentioned, especially since we must take into account the commercial breaks that are not seen on streaming platforms.

The third season aired during the Spring 2023 season (April-June) in Japan and featured a total of eleven episodes, while the Crunchyroll platform was in charge of its distribution in the West. On the other hand, Koyoharu Gotouge published the original manga through Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine between February 2016 and May 2020, compiling the work into a total of twenty-three volumes.

Synopsis General of Kimetsu no Yaiba

Tanjirou Kamado lives with his impoverished family on a remote mountain. As the eldest brother, he has taken on the responsibility of providing for his family following the death of his father. On a cold winter's day, he goes down to the local village to sell charcoal. As night falls, he is forced to spend the night in the home of a curious man who warns him of strange creatures that roam the night: malevolent demons that crave human flesh.

When he finally gets home, Tanjirou's worst nightmare comes true. His entire family has been brutally slaughtered, with the sole exception of his sister Nezuko, who has become a flesh-eating demon. Filled with hatred and despair, Tanjirou desperately tries to stop Nezuko from attacking other people, embarking on a journey to avenge his family and find a way to turn his beloved sister back into a human.
