The popular manga reading app Manga Plus ,
from Shueisha, organized a vote during Anime Expo 2024 for
fans to choose their favorite manga among the new titles serialized in the app.
According to the final results, “ Kagurabachi ”
was crowned the favorite manga, obtaining 590 votes from fans,
far surpassing other titles such as “ Nue's Exorcist ”,
“ Ruri Dragon ” and even “ Sakamoto Days ”,
among other popular works serialized in the platform.
Fans who participated in the vote received a gift
from Manga Plus . Additionally, those who downloaded the app
and made a post with the provided hashtags on social media had a chance to win
a free badge at Anime Expo 2024 .
The Kagurabachi manga , created
by Takeru Hokazono , has seen notable success recently,
receiving immense support in both print and digital formats. The third volume
of the manga, which hit stores on July 4, 2024 , is in high
demand in Japan, as were the previous two volumes. “ Naruto ” author Masashi
Kishimoto recommended “ Kagurabachi ” in the third
volume, which has undoubtedly contributed to its growing popularity.
“ Kagurabachi ” has been serialized
in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since September
2023 , and the first tankobon volume was released on February
2, 2024 . Additionally, it has attracted significant international
attention, with the first English chapter reaching first place in global views
on MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA just one week after its debut.
Kagurabachi follows
the story of Chihiro , a young boy who spends his days
training under the tutelage of his famous swordsmith father. Chihiro dreams of
becoming a great sword maker like his father. However, his life takes a tragic
turn when a dark day bathed in blood changes his destiny forever. Now, Chihiro
and his sword live only for revenge, staging epic sword battles.
