The
appetite to devour souls and level up is endless. Production company Point Set
officially confirmed that the animated adaptation of the dark
fantasy light novels Boushoku no Berserk (Berserk
of Gluttony) will have a second season that will hit
screens sometime in 2027.
To
celebrate this great news, the production shared a video message starring the
renowned seiyuu Ryota Osaka, who lends his voice to the protagonist
Fate Graphite. The actor confessed that during the closing of the previous
installment he had already been hinted that the project would continue if the
schedules of the work team allowed it. The most exciting thing is that he
revealed that the voice recording sessions for this new installment have
already begun, highlighting that he has had intense improvisation duels with
veteran Tomokazu Seki, in charge of bringing the black sword Greed
to life.
Originally
born as a series of light novels written by Ichika Isshiki and
illustrated by fame on the site Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2017,
the story introduces us to Fate Graphite, a young outcast who suffers from
having the ability "Gluttony", a curse that keeps him in eternal
hunger. Everything changes drastically the day he ends the life of a dying
thief and discovers the true nature of his power: his ability allows him to
devour the stats and souls of his victims, making his way through a cruel world
to become the master of his own destiny.
