The
streaming platform Tubi has added to its catalog the
series Tai Chi Chasers (also known as Tai Chi Senjimon),
an animated production of 39 episodes that can now be enjoyed
on this medium. Originally adapted for American television by 4Kids
Entertainment in 2011, this series mixes action, fantasy and a heavy
dose of adventure in a parallel universe called Suhn, where two
ancestral races fight for control of the supreme power.
A war
between ancient races for absolute control
The story
follows Rai, a young man who, after a devastating attack on his
home, discovers that he is a descendant of the Tigeroids, a
peaceful race that has been fighting the Dragonoids, their sworn
enemies, since ancient times.
Both sides
seek to gather 500 characters of tai chi, symbols with unimaginable
power. Whoever obtains them, will be able to dominate the world of Suhn. As Rai
develops his skills, he becomes one of the legendary Tai Chi Chasers in
a fight for the fate of his universe.
An
international co-production with the Toei Animation label
Tai Chi
Chasers was a
co-production between veteran Japanese studio Toei Animation,
Korean studio JM Animation and the Korean Broadcasting
System (KBS). The series, which combines traditional animation with
computer graphics, originally premiered in South Korea in 2007.
Prior to
its arrival on Tubi, the series had already aired on television and
was available on platforms such as Hulu, maintaining a loyal
following thanks to its unique approach and distinctive visual style.
