Rock is a Lady's Modesty confirms premiere date at HIDIVE

The HIDIVE platform announced that the anime Rock is a Lady's Modesty, an adaptation of Hiroshi Fukuda's manga, will receive a dubbing starting on September 17, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. (Spanish time). In addition, the premiere will be screened at the Anime NYC event on the same day at 01:00 on September 18 (Spanish time).

The English dubbing will be directed by John Swasey, with ADR script by Marta Bechtol, mixing by Brent Marshall and sound engineer Patrick Marrero. Among the confirmed voices are:

Production Details


The anime originally debuted on April 3, 2025, on TBS and 27 other affiliated networks, being simulcast by HIDIVE. Shinya Watada (Aikatsu Stars!The IDOLM@STER Million Live!) directed at BN Pictures, with Ōri Yasukawa as assistant director. The scripts were supervised by Shogo Yasukawa (Food Wars!A Certain Scientific Railgun T), while Risa Miyadani was in charge of character design. Yasufumi Soejima (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) was the visual director.


The team also included Masumi Ootsuka as artist of color, Hirofumi Sakagami as art director, Yuichi Asami in stage settings, Haruka Sakaguchi as CG director, Mika Watanabe in cinematography, Akari Saitō in editing, and Hiromi Kikuta as sound director.


History of music and youth


The original manga, published in Young Animal magazine since October 2022, narrates the life of Lilisa Suzunomiya, a girl who after becoming the daughter of a real estate tycoon abandons her guitar and her passion for rock to behave like a distinguished lady in an exclusive girls' school. However, her love for music is reborn when she meets a talented drummer at the same school.


The work of Hiroshi Fukuda, also the author of Mushibugyō and Gofun-go no Sekai, has eight volumes collected to date, the last one being published on August 29, 2025 by Hakusensha.
