The international expansion of anime music franchises has hit an unexpected wall. Bushiroad announced on December 18 that the Shanghai stop of Roselia's Asian tour, titled "Neuweltfahrt", has been cancelled due to "force majeure". The event was scheduled to fill the massive Mercedes-Benz Arena on January 16 and 17, 2026.
A Quick Fix: From China to Osaka
Although the news is a hard blow, especially considering that the tour started successfully on November 22, the organization acted quickly. In order not to leave the gap in the agenda, replacement concerts were announced at the Zepp Osaka Bayside on the same dates. In addition, as a gesture of thanks and apology, the initial part of the concert on the 17th will be broadcast for free through the official YouTube channel and Bilibili.

This incident highlights the current volatility for Japanese artists in China. Although the BanG Dream! franchise enjoys immense popularity in the region — with the bands MyGO!!!! and Ave Mujica selling more than 30,000 tickets at the same venue in October alone — a recent wave of anime event cancellations suggests tightening regulations or diplomatic logistical issues that are plaguing the industry.
