The imminent climax of one of the most
iconic franchises in manga is finally upon us. The production
committee behind the acclaimed animated adaptation of Bleach:
Thousand-Year Blood War officially confirmed that the fourth and final
part of this colossal project, subtitled as The Calamity, will
consist of a total of ten episodes to definitively close the story of Ichigo
Kurosaki on television.
For those fans who were afraid to relive the hasty
and controversial closure that the original manga had in 2016,
there is excellent news. Creator Tite Kubo himself assured
that this final stretch will be full of completely unpublished content. In
fact, the author promised that this last stage will integrate many more
original scenes than the previous three cuts, massively expanding the battles
with sequences created exclusively for the anime. Considering that past seasons
averaged thirteen episodes, condensing this brutal outcome into just ten episodes,
starting this July 25 with an episode titled "GOD OF THUNDER",
guarantees a dose of uninterrupted action without unnecessary fillers.}
But Kubo's intervention was not limited to
rewriting the scripts and choreographing battles. The legendary mangaka revealed
that he was personally in charge of listening to and selecting each of the
musical themes of the series from their demo versions. Their main goal with
this painstaking curation was to recruit as many emerging artists as possible,
using the colossal media impact of the Bleach community as
a gigantic springboard for viewers to discover new talent and pursue their
careers once the series ends.
