This year's combined issue # 21- # 22 of Kodansha's Morning magazine announced that the manga written and illustrated by Yuu Suzunoki, Kounodori will end in the next issue of the magazine on May 7.
The magazine had already announced in March that the manga had entered its final arc. For his part, Suzunoki began publishing the manga in Kodansha's Morning magazine in August 2012. The publisher published the 30th compilation volume on March 23.
The play inspired a live-action television adaptation released in October 2015, followed by a second season released in October 2017. Both productions were broadcast on the TBS channel.
Synopsis of Kounodori
Giving birth is not a disease, so under normal conditions, health insurance will not cover it. The staff assisting deliveries do not cure illnesses or heal wounds, so there is no need for a doctor ... unless circumstances are not normal. This dramatic manga offers a glimpse into the work of the men and women who receive more than a million new lives a year in Japan.
