The official site for the anime adaptation of Kazuma Kamachi ’s manga , “ Toaru Kagaku no Railgun ( A Certain Scientific Railgun ),” announced the production of a fourth season of the project. The release did not reveal a scheduled premiere date , but did indicate that Tatsuyuki Nagai will return to direct this fourth season at JCSTAFF studios .

For his part, Kazuma Kamachi began publishing the manga with art by Motoi Fuyukawa in April 2007 through Kadokawa 's Dengeki Daioh magazine , where it continues to be published with a total of nineteen volumes to date. This spin-off of " Toaru Majutsu no Index (A Certain Magical Index)" has inspired a total of three anime seasons since Fall 2009 (October-December) , totaling 73 episodes so far.

Synopsis of Toaru Kagaku no Railgun

Filled with students, Academy City is at the forefront of scientific advancement and home to the esper development program. The seven “Level 5” espers are the most powerful in Academy City, and the third among them is high school student Mikoto Misaka, a manipulator of electricity known as “The Railgun.”

When strange incidents begin to occur across the city, he discovers that each crime is linked to the elusive “Level Upper,” a legendary device that supposedly increases the esper level of its user. As the situation escalates, it becomes clear that there is more to Level Upper than meets the eye, and that Academy City may be a far more twisted place than the glamorous utopia it appears to be.
