Umezawa, Saitō and Yamashita star in the live-action project as the characters Sayaka Kanamori, Midori Asakusa and Tsubame Mizusaki, respectively.
For its part, Ōwara launched the manga Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na! in Shogakukan Publishing's Gekkan Spirits magazine in 2016. The manga was nominated for the 11th Taisho Manga Awards last year, and won the Bros. Comic Award in 2017. The manga inspired an anime adaptation by the director. Masaaki Yuasa and his study Science SARU, which premiered on the NHK General channel on January 5 and had twelve episodes.
Synopsis of Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na!
The story follows Midori, Tsubame, and Sayaka, an energetic trio of high school freshmen who gather at the Eizo-ken (Video Research Club) to make their anime dreams a reality. Midori is nervous about creating an anime on her own. She meets Tsubame, who seems to be a well-off girl, but really has a dream: to be a cheerleader. Sayidor, Midori's best friend, has a great sense of finances to carry out the project and joins the other two girls in search of their dreams.
