The production committee for the third season of the anime Kingdom announced this Sunday that the broadcast of the series will be suspended due to the state of emergency that Japan is going through due to the coronavirus pandemic. The committee revealed that the situation in the Japanese country had a great impact on the planning schedule of the series despite the fact that they were already well advanced in other aspects of its production.

Episode 4 will air regularly on Sunday, April 26. It is from next week and until further notice that the series will enter a period of indefinite pause. The date for the return of the third season of Kingdom will be announced as soon as it is decided.

The anime premiered on April 5. This third season will have 24 episodes and will cover the events of the "Arc of the Alliance". Hara's work began being published in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2006. The publisher published the fifty-sixth (56) compilation volume on November 19. Hara said she is considering writing more than a hundred volumes of the manga.

The first season of the anime adaptation premiered in 2012, followed by a second season in 2013. Additionally, the manga inspired a live-action film directed by Shinsuke Sato released on April 19.
