Through her official instagram account, voice actress Aya Hirano who is recognized for having played characters such as Lucy Heartfilia in Fairy Tail, Misa Amane in Death Note, Konata Izumi in Lucky Star and the most famous of all, Haruhi Suzumiya in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuustu, uploaded a 10-minute video in which she teaches her followers all the steps of the renowned dance for the song Hare Hare Yukai.
Hare Hare Yukai is the closing theme for the Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu anime, a series released in 2006 and produced by the Kyoto Animation studio in which the homonymous light novels written by Nagaru Tanigawa are adapted. The song is performed by Aya Hirano, Minori Chihara, and Yuko Goto, voices of the characters Haruhi Suzumiya, Yuki Nagato, and Asahina Mikuru.
The Hare Hare Yukai track peaked at # 5 on Oricon's most popular singles chart and won the Kansai Radio Award in 2006.
The popular choreography accompanying the song, originally broadcast as part of the closing credits, became an Internet phenomenon that inspired many parodies and videos created by fans on the Internet, many of which were posted on websites like YouTube.
Haruhi Suzumiya's series of light novels were published in Sneaker Bunko magazine, a magazine dedicated to the serialization of short novels by Kadokawa. Almost 8 years, from 2003 to 2011, Tanigawa was dedicated to publishing this youth comedy with fantastic overtones. Noizi Ito was in charge of illustrating this work.
