It is a webcomic written by ONE that has been published since 2009. However, it is best known for the manga adaptation written and illustrated by Yusuke Murata that has been published in Tonari no Young Jump magazine by Shueisha publishing house since June 2012. The publisher published the twenty-first compilation volume in December 2019.
The play inspired an anime adaptation released in October 2015 and produced by Madhouse Studios . However, the second season was released in April 2019 and the animation studio changed, this time being produced by JC Staff studios . A live-action movie produced in Hollywood is confirmed.
