On the official Twitter account of the Shoujo ☆ Kageki Revue Starlight franchise it was announced that the premiere of the compilation movie Shoujo ☆ Kageki Revue Starlight: Rondo Rondo Rondo will be indefinitely delayed.
The film was scheduled to be released in theaters in Japan on May 29, and the decision was made in consideration of measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Japan. The production committee will reveal the new release date as soon as it is decided.
In addition to this compilation film, the franchise has also confirmed a new feature film with an original story, but has not revealed new details about it. For his part, Bushiroad officially announced the franchise in April 2017 with a musical work and animation project. The musical titled Shōjo ☆ Kageki Revue Starlight The LIVE promoted as "a live 2.5-dimensional musical" was presented in Tokyo in September 2017. The twelve-episode anime series, meanwhile, premiered in July 2018.
Sora Goto and Kanata Nakamura began publishing the Shōjo ☆ Kageki Revue Starlight Overture manga, the first in the franchise, in Kadokawa's Dengeki G’s Comic magazine in January 2018 and ended last year. The franchise also includes the Butai Shōjo ☆ Kageki Revue Starlight ―The LIVE― SHOW MUST GO ON and Yonkoma Starlight manga.
