The company Good Smile Company announced the launch of a scale figure based on the Evangelion-02 Unit of the Neon Genesis Evangelion series for the month of December 2020.
The figure will feature a wide variety of accessories, including five pairs of hands and a variety of weapons. In addition, other weapons may be part of the figure and it also has multiple points of articulation to provide a great possibility of positions.
The product has a height of 250 mm, will be priced at 17,600 yen (approximately 164 dollars) and can be reserved on the official website of the distributor (link) in the period between June 18 and August 5 of this year .
About Evangelion
The original series premiered in Japan in October 1995, featuring 26 episodes written and directed by Hideaki Anno at Gainax Studios in collaboration with Tatsunoko Production. On the other hand, the movie Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, the last in the tetralogy of the new Evangelion project, was scheduled to be released on June 27 in Japan. However, due to the health situation the country is going through caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision was made to delay it indefinitely. The new release date will be announced as soon as it is decided.
Additionally, Netflix acquired the distribution license for the original series and movies for the franchise, except for those for the Rebuild project. The first three films of the project were released in 2007, 2009 and 2012.
