Pokémon inspires curious sneakers in China

The Pokémon franchise has never lacked original and pretty good merchandise. Japan has launched products based on this series for virtually everything from traditional products to food. But, in addition to t-shirts, there are actually few official Pokémon clothes, and China entered this market with a rather peculiar proposal.

The ZARA online store announced the launch of sneakers that, instead of the traditional heel, have a Pokéball. The product is available only for China and is priced at 13,000 yen (approximately $ 122) at the official dealer store (link).

The Japanese did not take long to react jokingly to the curious design of the product, mentioning that, in fact, they even seem dangerous to use and do not believe that they are an official product. However, a representative from The Pokémon Company stated that it is indeed a licensed Pokémon product sold by ZARA, and that there are currently no plans to release it in other countries.
