The cover of the thirteenth compilation volume of the manga written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Tohru Naomura, Kakegurui was published on the official website of the Square Enix editorial division. The launch is scheduled in Japan for June 22.

Kawamoto and Naomura began publishing the manga in Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine in March 2014. The publisher published the twelfth compilation volume in December 2019.

The play has inspired multiple spin-off manga, as well as a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by MAPPA studios, directed by Yuichiro Hayashi and scripts written by Yasuko Kobayashi, released in July 2017. A second season with the same Production team premiered in January 2019 and featured twelve episodes.

Synopsis of Kakegurui

Hyakkaou Private Academy prepares students for their time in the real world. Since many of the students are children of the richest people in the world, the academy has its peculiarities that separate it from all the others. During the day, it is a normal school, educating its students in history, languages and others. But at night, it becomes a gambling den, educating them in the art of dealing with money and manipulating people. Money is power; those who excel in games rank at the top of the school.

Yumeko Jabami, an apparently naive and beautiful transfer student, is ready to lay her hand on Hyakkaou's special curriculum. Unlike the rest, she does not play to win, but because of the excitement of the bet, and her way of playing to the limit can put too many new cards on the table.
