The cover of the eighteenth compilation volume of the manga written by Masamune Shirow and illustrated by Koushi Rikudou, Koukaku no Pandora was published on the official website of the Kadokawa publishing house. The launch is scheduled for July 10.
Shirow and Rikudou began publishing the manga in Kadokawa magazine's Newtype Ace magazine in October 2012, and later moved it to the Niconico Ace website in September 2013. The publisher published the seventeenth compilation volume on February 10.
The work inspired a twelve episode anime adaptation produced by Studio Gokumi in collaboration with AXsiZ studios, directed by Munenori Nawa and scripts written by Tatsuya Takahashi, released in January 2016.
Synopsis of Koukaku no Pandora
Aboard a cruise ship heading to picturesque Cenancle Island, cyborg Nene Nanakorobi, a young woman who dreams of world peace, meets inventor Uzal Delilah. The two quickly become friends, paired with Uzal's cyborg pet, Clarion. Soon after saying goodbye, a terrorist attack on the island threatens to destroy their friendship. In an attempt to save his new friend, Uzal gives Nene the ability to use Clarion's body's Pandora Device before apparently dying. With this power, Nene can temporarily master never-before-seen abilities, even in this advanced world.
