In this year's issue # 14 of Kodansha's Evening magazine, it was announced that the manga written and illustrated by Takayuki Mizushina, Itoshi no Muco, will come to an end within six chapters.
Mizushina began publishing the manga in Kodansha's Evening magazine in 2011, and the publisher published the sixteenth compilation volume on June 23. The manga story centers on the life of a dog named Muco and his owner Komatsu, who live in the mountains and have a glassblowing carving workshop.
The play inspired three seasons of anime shorts titled Lovely Movie: Itoshi no Muco. The first season had 21 episodes and premiered in July 2013, followed by a second 22-episode season premiered in April 2014. The third season featured 25 episodes and premiered in October 2015.
