Fate / Grand Order celebrates its fifth anniversary with Weekly Shonen Magazine

Although the event “Fate / Grand Order Fes. 2020 ”was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the popular smartphone game Fate / Grand Order announced a collaboration with Kodansha publisher Weekly Shonen Magazine.


The collaboration includes the following projects:

  • Character designer Takashi Takeuchi will create a cover illustration for this year's 34th edition of the magazine, which will be published on July 22.
  • This year's 34th edition will include a manga based on the Scáthach character, with a completely original story.
  • In the 35th edition of this year, which will be released on July 27, a secondary story will be published for the Fate / Grand Order: Turas Réalta manga, written by Takeshi Kawaguchi.
  • This year's ninth edition of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, to be published on August 7, will include a color page and back cover with illustrations from Fate / Grand Order: Turas Réalta. The edition will also feature an interview with WINFANWORKS, a company that has created the Fate / Grando Order designs and logos and other Type-Moon projects.
  • Users of the Kodansha publisher Manga Pocket application will receive a gift on August 9, related to the Fate / Grand Order - Epic of Remnant - Ashu Tokuiten III Shizenketsuga Butai Shimousa Kuni: Eirei Kengou Nanaba Shoubu manga, which is currently serialized in the application.

For its part, Aniplex released the game in Japan in the summer of 2015. Subsequently, the game was released in English in the United States and Canada in June 2017.

The installment has inspired multiple anime adaptations. The most recent being Fate / Grand Order: Shinsei Entaku Ryouiki Camelot: Wandering: Agateram, the first film in a two-part project scheduled for release in theaters on August 15.
