The chain of maid-cafes Akiba Zettai announced through its official site that they have suspended their activities because their employees are under COVID-19 diagnostic tests. Last Monday it was confirmed that one of the employees had tested positive for the virus.
The employee last attended work on July 8. A day later, he reported feeling ill and has not attended work since. The company is working together with health centers to be aware of the situation, and the health authorities determined that the employee had not been in contact with more people.
The statement said that the activities of the Akiba Zettai maid-café will be suspended with the aim of "ensuring greater health safety" and promised to keep customers updated on the future development of the situation.
Additionally, earlier this month, Infinia, the company that runs the popular @home cafe, reported through an official statement that three employees have tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Three other employees were confirmed on June 26, adding a total of six positive cases.
