An official statement reported that the manga written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono, Gokushufudou, will inspire an adaptation to a live-action series in dorama format. The series will star Hiroshi Tamaki playing Tatsu.

The series will air as part of Nippon Television's “Sunday TV” block every Sunday from October this year at 10:30 p.m. (Japan Standard Time).

For his part, Oono has published the manga on Shinchosha publisher's Kurage Bunch website since February 2018. The publisher published the fourth compilation volume in December 2019 and will publish the fifth on June 9. In fact, the publisher released a promotional video to commemorate the launch of this new volume.

Synopsis of Gokushufudou

Tatsu, an infamous and feared yakuza leader nicknamed "The Immortal Dragon", withdraws from the crime syndicate and becomes a housekeeper to help his wife Miku. The series showcases a variety of comical sets, typically starring Tatsu's domestic activities and his disparity with his intimidating looks, as well as multiple encounters with his former colleagues and rivals in the Japanese crime syndicate.
