During the
" Bandai Card Games Fest 24-25's World Tour Final " event, it
was announced that the " Battle Spirits "
franchise will be getting a new television anime. The release
didn't reveal production details, but it did include a promotional video.
" Battle Spirits " is a
two-player collectible card game (CCG) co-developed by Bandai and
Sunrise, Inc. The franchise also includes several anime series, manga
serializations, and other products such as toys and video games. The game was
released in Japan in September 2008, where it quickly became one of the
best-selling trading card games of the year.
Due to its popularity, Bandai of America brought
it to the United States on August 14, 2009. However, a lack of publicity and
errors in the Japanese-to-English translation limited its success, and only
five sets were released before its cancellation. Currently, the game is only
available in Asia and is printed exclusively in Japanese. Regarding the
anime adaptation, a total of six series have been produced to date, totaling
299 episodes.
Battle Spirits Synopsis
The energetic and thrill-loving sixth-grader, Toppa
Bashin, has only one thing on his mind: the card game Battle Spirits. Carrying
a ruby pendant inherited from his missing father, Bashin enthusiastically
attends school every day—not for the classes, but for the card battles, much to
the chagrin of his classmates. One day, Bashin crosses paths with J, the child
prodigy and Battle Spirits champion, who also possesses a similar pendant.
Fascinated, Bashin challenges him to a battle.
However, the match he gets isn't what he expected:
they're both transported to a mysterious arena in the sky—the Isekai
World—where the game's Spirits come to life. Feeling his dream closer than
ever, Bashin throws himself into the Isekai World, encountering other Duelists
who possess extraordinary pendants. As he climbs the ranks, he discovers that
there's more to Battle Spirits than he ever imagined.
