It seems
that Toei Animation decided that the arrival of the Gods of Destruction
deserved a second chance with all the possible luxuries. The company officially
confirmed that the animated series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will
premiere on television on October 11, accompanying the announcement with a
promotional image, the trailer titled "Super Surge" and the reveal of
the musical themes that will accompany this reconstructed version.
This
installment represents a rather ambitious re-edition that seeks to correct and
elevate what was seen in the original series of 2015. As Akio Iyoku explained,
the project has been in development for a couple of years and was conceived as
an improved edition that includes a restructuring of the story, unpublished
shots and completely redrawn scenes. The production applied updated rendering
techniques, re-recorded dubbing from scratch and new sound effects to offer
much more fluid and intense combat sequences, sticking more faithfully to the
vision and setting that Akira Toriyama conceived.
The
promotional trailer offers a sneak peek of the opening track titled
"ONOGAMI," performed by MEGATERA・ZERO, while the closing theme will
be provided by VK Blanka with the theme song "Kan Peki No Peki." For
those who can't wait to see the first few minutes, the pilot episode will have
a special screening before its television broadcast during a panel dedicated to
the franchise at the New York Comic Con convention on October 8.
On the
technical side, the direction of the arrangement and composition is in charge
of Matsuto Seya, while Tadayoshi Yamamuro returns in the character design and
general animation direction. The editing was in charge of Eichi Nishimura,
Yosuke Motoki takes over the direction of composition and Norihito Sumitomo
returns to be in charge of the soundtrack. In addition, talented voice actor
Koichi Yamadera reprises his iconic role to lend his voice once again to the
relentless Beerus.
