The OVA Planetarian: Snow Globe reveals its theme song

Based on the visual novel from Visual Art’s and Key, a video showing the main theme song for the project was posted on the official site for the OVA Planetarian: Snow Globe. The theme is performed by Riko Azuna and the OVA is slated to be released in September this year.


This OVA will be based on a prequel short story titled "Snow Globe," which was released as part of a light novel in a limited edition of the original PC game. Other stories in the novel include "Jerusalem", "Hoshi no Hito" (Star Man); and "Tircis to Aminte". The novel also included a limited PlayStation 2 version of the game.

Production team

  • Jin Tamamura is directing the episode at the Okuru to Noboru studios.
  • Shogo Yasukawa is in charge of series composition and script writing.
  • Hitomi Takechi is in charge of character design.
Previous animation projects for the franchise include the Planetarian anime: Chiisana Hoshi no Yume, which featured five episodes and was released in July 2016; followed by the movie Planetarian: Hoshi no Hito which was released in theaters in September of the same year.

Planetarian Synopsis

Thirty years have passed since the failure of the Space Colonization Program. Humanity is close to extinction. A perpetual and deadly rain falls on the Earth. Men known as the "Junkers" extract property and artifacts from the ruins of civilization. One of these men sneaks into the most dangerous of the ruins, a "Sarcophagus City".

In the center of this ruined city, discover a planetarium. And when he enters, he is greeted by Hoshino Yumemi, an assistant robot. Without a hint of doubt, she assumes that the man is the first customer to arrive in thirty years, so she tries to show him the stars, but the projector in the planetarium is broken. Unable to understand their conversation, the man ends up agreeing to repair the projector ...
