Aruga had already revealed in April 2019 that his manga was very close to its final argumentative arc. Aruga began publishing the manga in Kodansha publisher's Kiss magazine in March 2014. The publisher published the tenth compiled volume in November 2019, followed by the eleventh on August 12.
The play inspired a live-action film released in theaters in Japan in October 2018. The film grossed 17.38 million yen (approximately $ 153,000) and ranked fourth in its opening weekend. A live-action series was produced in April 2019.
