Code Geass celebrates Lelouch Lamperouge's birthday

On December 5, Japan celebrated the birthday of the character Lelouch Lamperouge, the star of Gorou Taniguchi and Sunrise Studios' original anime, Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch, as well as all subsequent projects. Different Twitter accounts commemorated the occasion, starting with the official account of the franchise, which, in addition to holding the special event where it revealed the production of a new anime and a game for smartphones, also published a special illustration.


"December 5th is Lelouch's birthday! Thanks to all of you who love Code Geass we can celebrate it this way (referring to the event). Happy Birthday Lelouch!"


Tomofumi Ogasawara, illustrator of the manga Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch Re;, also wrote: "Happy birthday Lelouch!" through his Twitter account. 



The eyeglass manufacturing company, Megane Flower, also announced a special collaboration with the franchise in commemoration of the protagonist's birthday. "Collaboration announcement between Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch and Megane Flower! With Lelouch's birthday, celebrated on December 5th, the product reservations also start (delivery is scheduled for January 2021)". 


The Sunrise studios also shared a message, using the same image and message published by the franchise account: "December 5th. Today is Lelouch's birthday! Thanks to all the fans around the world for their support and love for the series. Don't miss the special event "Code Geass New Project Presentation"! 

The original series premiered in Japan on October 6, 2006 and had a total of 25 episodes. A second season, also of 25 episodes, entitled Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch R2, premiered in Japan on April 6, 2008. Subsequently, a film project entitled Code Geass: Fukkatsu no Lelouch was produced and premiered in Japan on February 9, 2019. This installment developed into an alternate universe that followed the three compilation films released between 2017 and 2018 in Japan.
