Gemdrops company announced the development of two virtual reality video games based on the manga written and illustrated by Afro, Yuru Camp (Laid-Back Camp), which will be entitled "Yuru Camp: Virtual Camp - Motosuko-hen (Laid-Back Camp - Virtual - Lake Motosu)" and "Yuru Camp: Virtual Camp - Fumoto Camp Jou-hen (Laid-Back Camp - Virtual - Fumoto Campsite)". Both games will be released next winter season in Japan for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, iOS and Android devices, and PSVR, Oculus Rift, HTC Live and Nintendo Switch VR Kit devices.

Both deliveries will feature Japanese audio, with texts in English, Japanese, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Korean and French. Afro began publishing the manga in the Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine of Houbunsha Publishing in July 2015, and in February 2019 it was moved to the Comic Fuz website.

The play inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by C-Station Studios, under the direction of Yoshiaki Kyougoku, and scripts written by Jin Tanaka, released in January 2018. Production of a second season has been confirmed, and it is scheduled for release in Japan in January 2021.

Synopsis of Yuru Camp

While the perfect getaway for most girls her age can be an extravagant vacation with loved ones, Rin Shima's ideal way is to camp alone at the base of Mount Fuji. From pitching her tent to gathering firewood, she has always done everything herself and has no plans to leave her small, lonely world.

However, what begins as one of Rin's regular camping sessions somehow ends as a surprise reunion for two when the lost Nadeshiko Kagamihara is forced to take refuge in her camp. Originally intended to see the picturesque view of Mount Fuji for herself, Nadeshiko's plans are interrupted when she ends up falling asleep in the middle of her destination. Alone and with no other option, she seeks the help of the only person close to her. Despite their hasty introductions, the two girls enjoy the cold night together, eating ramen and chatting while the fire keeps them warm. And even after Nadeshiko's sister finally picked her up later that night, both girls quietly reflected on the possibility of taking another camping trip together.
