In this year's second issue of Square Enix publisher's Monthly Big Gangan magazine, it was revealed that the manga written by Makoto Fukami and illustrated by Seigo Tokiya, Mahou Shoujo Tokushusen Asuka (Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka), will end with its next chapter, which will be published on February 25.

In October 2020 it had already been reported that the work had entered its last story arc. For their part, Fukami and Tokiya began publication of the manga in Square Enix publisher's Monthly Big Gangan magazine in June 2015, and the publisher published the 13th compiled volume on September 25 in Japan.

The play inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by LIDEN FILMS studios, directed by Hideyo Yamamoto and scripts written by Norimitsu Kaihou, released in January 2019.

Synopsis of Mahou Shoujo Tokushusen Asuka
