Sunrise studios to change name in April

Bandai Namco Holdings announced more details about the reorganization of its intellectual property production unit. The umbrella company ( which brings together various sub-brands or products to enhance its most relevant asset ) is combining its visual, music production and creative businesses into a new IP production unit on April 1. As part of this project, Bandai Namco Holdings is combining the Sunrise anime studio, Bandai Namco Arts visual business operations, and Bandai Namco Rights Marketing , into the new Bandai Namco Filmworks company . According to Bandai Namco HoldingsBandai Namco Filmworks " will take responsibility as the business management company in the Intellectual Property Production Unit ."

Similarly, Bandai Namco Holdings is combining the music operations of Bandai Namco Arts , Bandai Namco Live Creative , and Sunrise Music to form the new Bandai Namco Music Live company . Bandai Namco Holdings highlighted in its press release that it will continue to use and develop the individual Sunrise brand with more than four decades of history. As for Sunrise , Emotion , and other similar brands, the company stated that in the new reorganization, " each brand offers unique works around the world " and " each brand brings together fans around the world ."

Makoto Asanuma , current President and Representative Director of Sunrise , will be the President and Representative Director of Bandai Namco Filmworks . Satoshi Kawano , current President and Representative Director of Bandai Namco Arts , will serve as Executive Vice President of Bandai Namco Filmworks . Yoshitaka Tao , current president and representative director of Bandai Namco Rights Marketing , will be the general manager of Bandai Namco Filmworks . In addition, Takaaki Suzuki , current president and representative director of Bandai Namco Live Creative , will be the president and representative director ofBandai Namco Music Live.
