The business portal Compare the Market shared an article describing the main destinations that people around the world are looking to move to. The latter is important, since they are not the “ main tourist destinations ”, that is, visits of a few days or weeks, but countries in which people want to settle. Japan got the second position.
- With the increase in working from home in the last two years, so is the number of people considering packing up and moving to another country. The ability to work from anywhere in the world is very appealing, whether it's the chance to enjoy warmer weather, explore new cultures, or perhaps improve earning potential.
- But, what are the countries that people are looking for the most to move to? To find out, we analyzed Google search data from every country in the world for search terms related to relocation. If you want to move, even to a different neighborhood, be sure to shop around for mortgage loans first to find one that fits your circumstances.
Canada got the first position of the list, and the site wrote:
- The first place is occupied by Canada, since the North American nation is the most desired destination in 50 other countries in the world. Canada is a very welcoming country for expatriates, which has led it to become a very diverse and multicultural country. In addition, it often ranks high on things like government transparency, civil liberties, quality of life, economic freedom, and education.
Japan got the second position, and the site wrote:
- Second place is occupied by Japan, with 31 countries that have it as the number one destination to relocate, including Australia. Japan has one of the highest life expectancies in the world, which could explain why so many people are looking to move there. It is also a world leader in many industries, such as automotive, robotics and electronics, which means that there are many job opportunities in these sectors.
Spain got the third position, and the site wrote:
- Spain is a very popular option, especially among the inhabitants of other European countries, with a total of 19 countries that have it as a favorite. Known for its warm Mediterranean climate, Spain is another country that boasts excellent healthcare and quality of life. Spaniards also give priority to reconciling work and family life, with a minimum of 30 days of paid vacation per year.
Finally, a map was also included showing the main destinations sought by each country in the world. The site explained:
- Check on the following map to which part of the world each country wants to move the most. Although most seem to prefer somewhere within the same continent, there are some notable exceptions. As the most searched country overall, we can see that people from as far away as India and South Africa have Canada as their most searched destination. However, there are also some definite regional trends. For example, many African countries have South Africa as their most searched destination.
